ADP Partner Advantage Program

Leveling the Playing Field with the ADP Partner Advantage Program

When the ADP Partner Advantage Program was launched in 2019, for many of our partners it was the formalization of a relationship that had been growing for several years.

One of these longstanding relationships is with Triton Benefits & HR Solutions. Headquartered in NJ with offices in Manhattan, Philadelphia and Dallas, Triton specializes in employee benefits.

As Triton President & CEO Steve Rosenthal explains, “Businesses today need agility to manage their workforce through all phases of HR  — starting with recruiting and applicant tracking, to payroll and benefits. The ADP Partner Advantage Program gives Triton the ability to deliver that agility, to go beyond benefits and help clients automate many of their manual processes, reduce costs and deliver more sustainable health insurance programs.”

According to Rosenthal, the Triton/ADP partnership allows his firm to focus on its core competencies. “We’re in the benefits business. ADP invests millions in R&D and staying on top of new laws like the PPP program. So why be in the payroll business, too? They’ve got it covered.”

It also provides Triton with a powerful competitive differentiator. Through the Partner Advantage Program, Triton has access to a broker partner portal with tools like compensation benchmarking and ADP data — the data used to formulate the jobs report eagerly awaited by Wall Street every month.

“We have that same data now, based on benefits,” says Rosenthal. “So we can drill down and spot opportunities to help our clients save money.”

For example, a Triton client was experiencing high turnover at the management level. “We looked at the benchmarking data and saw that the employer was paying the lion’s share of the employee coverage costs. But as employees rising to management had families, the cost of dependent coverage was getting high. We made that correlation and adjusted their contribution strategy so dependent coverage was more affordable. That really seemed to help with the turnover issue over the last year.”

In addition to benchmarking data, joint networking events are one of Rosenthal’s favorite aspects of the program. He recalls an event held pre-pandemic at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, attended by a mix of Triton and ADP clients and prospects.

“We started speaking with a company with nearly 400 employees, and ended up earning their benefits business,” he explains. The two companies developed a strong rapport, and when Triton recommended the client consider ADP for payroll services, they agreed. “We got the benefits business, and ended up handing a payroll deal back to ADP. It’s a marriage made in heaven.”

To Rosenthal, his company’s involvement with the ADP Partner Advantage Program levels the playing field. “It gives us a competitive advantage. Everyone wants analytics and benchmarking today. ADP’s data makes us look like superstars. It’s powerful stuff, and at the end of the day helps us be a better benefits broker.”
